Georgia: Support striking workers at Evolution Gaming
In partnership with LABOR Georgia and UNI Global Union. UNI is a global union representing more than 20 million workers in the services sectors in 150 countries. |
Evolution Gaming Georgia employs more than 7,500 people. About 50 percent of the many branches are employed in Georgia. Most of the studios operate in Georgia. The main income of the company comes from Georgia.
Since July 12, thousands of workers have gone on strike to protect their dignity, improve working conditions and pay. Employees at Evolution Gaming talk about the humiliating attitude of the company's management, unsanitary conditions and widespread diseases, unfair pay and unbearable working conditions. The main part of the employees are students, and their salary ranges from 30 to 50 percent of the average
salary in Georgia.
UNI Global Union's gaming sector supports the striking workers and calls on Evolution Gaming to immediately start negotiations with the union in good faith.
“We stand with our members in their fight for fair treatment and better working conditions,” said Giedre Lelyte, Head of the Gaming at UNI. ”This collective action signifies a strong and unified front against the issues they face. It is imperative that Evolution Gaming stops stalling and engages in meaningful dialogue to resolve these issues as soon as possible.”
